I've been on a temporary hiatus while my mouth heals from extensive teeth extractions.

Amazing how such an event can effect your life!

My mouth has been very uncomfortable, though I am not in pain.

My diet is consisting of pudding, chicken soup (without chicken as could not chew it), pop sickles, vanilla ice-cream and milk shakes. Tomorrow, I will try adding oatmeal and mashed potatoes.

To add some "hard core" protein to this skimpy diet, I will look at the available protein drinks to convince myself to at least try some.

I popped onto the site tonight for just a bit to read and respond to the posts I have been missing out on.

I am also taking this opportunity to broadcast it loud and clear that I am more that I am  two days free of nicotine gum.

On Thursday, just before I left for the dentist's office, I tossed the rest of my nico-gum. And so, goodbyes have been said and that puts me on the last leg of fully cleansing my body from all forms of nicotine.

Thanks to all for their exceptional support and ongoing encouragement for the past 15 months and 12 days of this quit!

thank you 1.9 g.jpg

Prior to my first quitting on 8/25/2019, I was a heavy smoker for over 60 years. That time, I quit due to health concerns regarding clogged arteries to my brain. Tar deposits from cigarettes were making the situation worse. I had become a prime candidate for a stroke and required surgery to clean out my left carotid artery. I have relapsed 4X since that quit, the last one being on 05.15.2022. ( At one point in all of this madness, I had been quit for 1.5 years). Then on 9/7/2021 I began my recent eight month quit before my current relapse. I am in the process of planning a return to the non-smoking life. After more than 2 weeks of smoking, wheezing and coughing and being short of breath, I have set my new quit date of June 1, 2022 as the beginning of my forever quit. I am done with this madness!! God is good.
