THANKS FOR THE GET WELL WISHES ( and the newest Trivia game has been posted)

THANKS GUYS, FOR THE ONGOING GET WELL WISHES AND PRAYERS.

Although I am still under the weather a bit with this episode of congestive heart failure, I am so relieved to report that I am not having any problems with breathing. The biggest issue continues to be a persistent swelling of my feet and lower legs and a general sense of malaise which -- in all honesty -- is driving me bonkers!

But I am taking a daily fluid pill, am consistently elevating my legs, and am wearing compression hose, which are all working to control the edema. (BTW I found some compression hose which have a zipper in them and that sure eases the process of getting them on and off!)

The one downside to this is that most of the weight I had happily regained appears to have been fluid. And so, I'm back down to 102#. I see my cardiologist again on the 17th and await a confirmed appointment date with the cardiac surgeon in Syracuse to discuss a possible heart valve replacement. (If I don't hear from his office soon, I will be calling the office myself; I am a great self-advocate.) In the meantime, I am trying to increase my protein and caloric intake.

Excellent news is that I am still totally nicotine-free, having passed my ten -month mark as a non-smoker and am looking ahead to re-joining the 6% club in less than two months' time. I am still considering this as the final leg of my forever quit. (PLUS, my episodes of craving have become almost non-existent!)

Prior to my first quitting on 8/25/2019, I was a heavy smoker for over 60 years. That time, I quit due to health concerns regarding clogged arteries to my brain. Tar deposits from cigarettes were making the situation worse. I had become a prime candidate for a stroke and required surgery to clean out my left carotid artery. I have relapsed 4X since that quit, the last one being on 05.15.2022. ( At one point in all of this madness, I had been quit for 1.5 years). Then on 9/7/2021 I began my recent eight month quit before my current relapse. I am in the process of planning a return to the non-smoking life. After more than 2 weeks of smoking, wheezing and coughing and being short of breath, I have set my new quit date of June 1, 2022 as the beginning of my forever quit. I am done with this madness!! God is good.
