RE: First Blog- on my FIFTH DAY of not smoking.

I am writing today because I almost didn't make it because yesterday I was so close to having a cigarette. I played tennis and then I went out for some beers afterwards and driving home, I craved a cigarette so bad, and alcohol is one of my main trigger's and I know that. On other times I tried quitng, I would stop and buy a pack of cigarettes,I Iose my will power when I am drinking, and say, oh I will only smoke these only when I have a drink (famous last words)...BUT I read on EX to take deep breaths and the urge will pass. I did alot of self talk to get through this, but it worked and the urge did pass. So I did not go back to 0, I am on DAY 5, and I am so thankful today that I did that.. I know now I have to stay away from my triggers because I know it will lead me into a hard situation. As time goes on and those urges and cravings start diminishing I may be able to have a couple of beers. I pledge that I will not smoke for the next 24 hours....
