Share your quitting journey
Today is a gloomy, cloudy day here in LA, so I’ve decided to stay in and get some work done around my house. I am happy today. This is normally a hard day for me (my partner Aaron’s birthday, he passed away in 2014) but I decided no tears, no grieving, I choose happy today. And I’ve got a lot to be happy for—I’m working fulltime, I have two part-time jobs, I’ve got a roof over my head, my health, and my dog and family and friends. Even though last week was overwhelming, I swallowed it for the most part, fell apart Thursday night, picked myself up and am working it all out. 54 days of freedom today. No Man’s Land has been a trip. Thankfully in approximately 11 days I will be halfway through it...give or take. It hasn’t always been an easy journey but in the long run it will be so, so worth it.
To everyone reading this—choose happy today. Or tonight, or tomorrow. I know it can be easier said than done sometimes. But try to drive out all of the nagging, negative thoughts and feelings. Smile. Laugh. Laugh a lot. And be proud that you’ve made the steps toward the best decision of your life—to be free from tobacco and nicotine. Hold your head high. XO everyone. Happy Sunday.
