Share your quitting journey
May 2nd was my 5 year smoke free anniversary. I had hoped to stop by this page to celebrate - but my 2 year old granddaughter was hospitalized with a serious virus - and life took over.
She is just fine now thank goodness. She only spent about 36 hours in the hospital. Her daddy is a pediatrician, so I knew that she would get the best of care!
I am grateful today for the gift of 4 children - 5 grandchildren - and a new lease on life because I decided to stop smoking 5 years ago.
If you're just getting started on your smoke free journey - know that you are among friends. We know the struggle - we know the temptation - we've heard all those voices that try to rationalize "just this one".
Trust me - you will NEVER regret the cigarette you do not light.
I have forgiven myself for the 37 years I smoked - I will not permit myself to ever touch another cigarette.
I have the greatest blessings - a husband who loves me - a family who supports me - and a God who is absolutely crazy about me.
Thank you to all who've been a part of this journey with me. I know that this site was instrumental in the first year to truly keep me sane and to help me believe that I could do this.
Peace -
Alice
