Day 1 Accomplished!

Well, day 1 went pretty smoothly. I planned out my first three days of quitting. This morning my family and I went to a museum that was 45 minutes away. I snacked on veggies on the way and drank water. I have been noticing my triggers and have been avoiding them. My triggers are after I eat I have to have one, driving a long distance I have to stop and have one, night time is a big trigger because that is when it is a relaxing time so I try to go to bed earlier, morning time is a big trigger too. This morning when I woke up at 5 am when I usually have a cigarette, I decided to come downstairs and write a blog instead, and then read some of my quit smoking books. It was great! I changed my routine a little and it helped. So after the museum we went out to lunch. My mistake was ordering something high in calories. I have been craving throughout the day, but I drink water, chew gum and do things that I can enjoy now, like be with family or be alone reading. My family, especially my son, is happy that I quit smoking and haven't had one all day. He is keeping tabs on me, lol. The more I read about smoking and read peoples blogs, the more I want to keep on trying. When we came home I took a long nap! I feel like I wasted the day, but I didn't because my body is getting adapted to not smoking. It feels great! I have the day planned for tomorrow, just in case I need it. I am going to church and then do housecleaning and other stuff. So I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow...taking it one day at a time.
