Hey Stephanie-we're in the same boat, then. I've been a Type 1 for 20 years (26 now), and I just quit this last Saturday the 4th. Believe me when I say your blood sugar levels will start coming back into control within the first 2 days, and you'll really start to feel the difference after 5 to 7 days. Just remember that you have to quit for yourself, nobody else is going to make that decision for you. As an EMT, I could delve into a boatload of health risks that you're avoiding by quitting, but I'll just highlight the ones you already know such as different types of lung disease, as well as renal failure and limb amputation, to name a few. You have to do this for you!
