I picked up my first cigarette at age ten behind the grocery store in Chicago. I smoked lightly from twelve to sixteen. My parents actually allowed me and my friends smoke in the yard by the garbage bins. Don' t get me wrong, it was a wealthy, upright and stern community, so I got sent away to a CeDu boarding school. I didn't smoke when I was seventeen and after about a year could run with a lot of coughing. I picked up smoking again when I was eighteen or nineteen and have been a smoker ever since. I am thirty-five. I had gone a month in 2010. I ad gone almost eight days last week. Tomorrow I have promised myself that I would not smoke again.
