Staying Connected

Keeping my feet firmly planted in this support group has given me a life that I didn't think possible.  It isn't assurance that I won't use but I think it is a good buffer.

I go and go and go in life-somedays real positve places and somedays real negative ones.  But, I have to stay connected to my peeps or else I start drifting back to stinking thinking and then to using.

I used to scoff when I heard AA's say try us out for 30, 60 or 90 days, we'll refund your misery for free.  Now, I don't.

I have yet to hear of someone relapsing and smoking, and then coming back here and telling me how great it was.

If you have had enough pain that you are using this site I would argue that you have smoked enought that you can't go back to being a social smoker and that you have had some emotinal pain that is not understood by non-addicts.

Stay here.  This is where the winners are.

If I can do this anyone can.

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had thinking errors, like us smokers, and they overcame them and changed the world.  You can change yourself and the world, too.

You can do this.
