I am currently using the 21 mg nicotine patch. I amon the 21mg for six weeks, then I step down to 14mg for 2 weeks, and then 7 mg for 2 weeks. I can tell you that the nicotine patch does help with the cravings a lot but the mornings are still quite tough regardless. I think it will be a lot easier to deal with once i purchase my smartphone in May because I will have access to the internet for the mobile version of this website, podcasts, vevo music, etc. The internet has countless resources to help ward off cravings and I plan on using as many tools as I can possibly think of. I truly want to conqueror this habit once and for all. If I can master the addiction to alcohol with the help of my higher power and my sponsor then I can so do it with nicotine as well. I highly recommend a 12 step program such as nicotine anonymous for those that find it difficult to quit.
