6 days smoke free...

I quit smoking 6 days ago and my plan is to stay smoke free. Sometimes I get the feeling that you get when you run out of cigarettes. So I look at it this way, I can keep smoking and continually have the feeling of running out of cigarettes for the rest of my life, or I can suck it up and have the feeling of running out of cigarettes for 2-3 weeks and hopefully it goes away. To never have the feeling of running out of cigarettes again is my goal....Tobacco is a cruel drug and I feel like it has ruined a large part of my life.

Hello and Welcome to EX! I am so glad you are here! This is a great place to quit smoking! You have been given some very good advice and information above! Please do the reading and listen to the Elders (people with 1 year or more quit) They know bunches about this addiction! Education, willingness to do whatever it takes not to smoke, determination and commitment will help you have success! I reccomend a group that is featured on our home page called "The Daily Pledge Group" It is pain free! And it can be fun.  It will help reinforce your commitment not to smoke! All you do is click on the link below! It will take you to the pledge,we are on page 5, just click on the that page, scroll down, take the persons hand before you and promise not to smoke!
