Share your quitting journey
Wow, I am at 400 days!! I can't believe it! I'm sure I felt horrible this time last year! Quitting was the best thing I ever did for MYSELF. About 2 months ago I joined a gym and am working on the weight I gained from quitting (to be honest, I think it was about 30 pounds!). I felt like I was wearing a fat suit, so it was hard to tell how much better I felt from quitting, but now that I have dropped about 10 pounds and my stamina has increased, I can really tell that my body is so much happier NOT SMOKING! Now I just feel sorry for people when I see them smoking (whereas I went through all the stages of grief giving up my addiction and would simultaneously feel anger and jealousy!). I finally don't think about smoking every day, just an occasional thought or craving until I remind myself I don't smoke anymore.
My daughter is due in October and I am so happy to be a non smoking grandmama who will hopefully live to see my first grandchild grow up.
Life is good!
