Share your quitting journey
I am so happy to see that we have so many new members here! I can honestly say that you have made a decision that you will never regret. That is the hard part - making up your mind - making that decision - and making a pledge every day to not smoke.
My journey began on May 1, 2014 - and on the third morning of my quit, I discovered this site. It was on a Saturday and I spent most of the day reading and learning about this addiction. I was truly inspired by everyone's stories from those that had been quit for 1 week to 7 plus years. And I thought, if they can do it, so can I!
The next couple of months were tough - I cannot say that I really wanted to smoke - but I had so many urges and cravings. My emotions were all over the map - that is normal, I learned because I read every day about this addiction and the withdrawal symptoms.
I wanted so very much to make it to the TDC (triple digit club) and I checked my count-up clock daily. I did not think that I would ever make it to 100 days. My cravings were strong and consistent from day 90 to 100.
Day 101 was so different - I felt free. My cravings are almost non-existent now. I honestly can imagine going thru life and never smoking again. It is a feeling that I hope all of you that are just beginning your journey will experience. It is not easy - but it is so worth the little bit of discomfort that you will experience.
I wish for you all a peaceful journey to freedom!
