One Month Smoke Free!

It was a short month, but I'll take it! I think tomorrow makes 30 days.

I really had trouble the last few days, just due to super high stressful situations. I got through them by telling myself "NOPE" over & over & over again. Also how I was not going to allow the person or situation ruin my quit!! I chewed regular, sugar-free gum and used sugar-free hard candies some. Drank a lot of water. WHEW. Now the worst (of that one, at least) is over.

I haven't been on here much, as my daughter and her family came to visit and we hadn't seen them in four years. Their last baby was 9 months old when they moved away four years ago, then they have since had another, and he is now 9 months old, and we just met him for the first time! Plus seeing the other three again. Well, it did this Grandma's heart a world of good. We have one more day with them on Thursday. The oldest is a girl, almost 13, and the rest are boys, 9, 4, and 9 months! What a handful!

I've stayed true to my Low-Carb eating as well, and have dropped 10 pounds in the month. Yippee! That's a drop in the bucket, but it's a great start. Now it has been long enough, I HAVE to incorporate some exercise into this. I didn't do it at the beginning because I figured two major things was quite enough to start with, and didn't want to set myself up for failure. Now I will start my walking every day again. I love it anyway, so it won't be too hard. Have to be cautious as I have fibromyalgia, which is another story in itself, but the short version for now is I have to start slowly and work up to longer walks.

Signs of Spring abound, and I couldn't be happier! We get so many gray days here in the Pacific NW, and it is easy to get depressed. It simply lasts too long. Maybe we'll become snowbirds when the hubs retires!

Take care, everyone, and keep on going, full steam ahead!!
