Give and get support around quitting

The best info I found from a search (from a source I trust) was this: How do I Reverse Damage From Smoking? | LIVESTRONG.COM.
Hope this helps!

The cilia in your airways do it best.
Give them a raise!!!
Our bodies do it by themselves once we quit! Keep smober and your lungs will clear little by little, between 24 and 36 months.
And here I almost said soap and water.
There is no way - yet - to clean tar out of lungs. Quitting smoking at least prevents more tar build up. There is a lung cleaner for people with a rare lung disease, PAP. But it sure doesn't look like a lot of fun. Just watching the video might be a good incentive to quit!

I think our bodies do a pretty good job cleaning our lungs. The hair (Cilia) grow back and the cells lining the lungs eventually grow back after we quit. Some cities have salt spa's. We had one in Richmond. It helps clean out the lungs with micro-nized Himalayan rock salt. It is pretty cool. I did it regularly for about 6 months. I felt it helped.
