33, F, smoker for 20+ years. I work as a bartender and sing in a fun 90s girl rock cover band. Smoking is really beginning to affect my voice and limit my range! I also enjoy being athletic and want to do aerial work and run a 5k obstacle course and my lung capacity and stamina have been damaged by smoking. (I'm really excited that three days into quitting, my lungs and stamina are improving already!)
I am using 14mg patches, 4mg lozenges and gum, and an e-cigarette for really intense cravings. The psychological part of quitting smoking is way harder for me than the physical addiction; I will taper off nicotine replacement medicine when I am good and used to my life as a nonsmoker.
