goodbye letter

Wow, we've been together for so long. You have been with me longer than any other friend that I've had. We've gotten through so much together. I do not deny that at one point you may have been necessary to help me deal, but over the years you have become greedy in our friendship.  You isolate me from those I care about. Always insisting I step away from those who aren't your friends. What started out as support became control.  All the while you were destroying me.  I had the stories of other about how you ruined them. I had seen the destruction you cause first hand, and yet, you had such control that i dismissed it.  No More.  I am stronger than you think.  I will miss you, but I no longer want you.  I can no longer think of you fondly.  All I can think of now is the damage, the control, and the manipulation.  So, just like you gave e the confidence to get through certain situations, you have given me the strength, courage and determination to say goodbye, and for that I thank you.
