Description

I am a Women's Studies graduate student.  I love learning and wish to have many more years to learn and do all of the things that I want to--and to change the world for the better.

I started smoking when I was 18.  I smoked for a few years, quit a few times, and always began again.  Nearly 4 years ago, I quit (for good, or so I thought) after a prolonged respiratory illness.  I did very well for  years.  However, after my fiance left me last year, I started again.  I smoke between 10 and 15 cigarettes per day.  I hate it that it is such a huge part of my life.

My paternal grandmother died of lung cancer in her early 50s, so I am concerned that there is a genetic predisposition.  Combined with the fact that I have smoked for a total of about 6 years, it's time to quit.
