Description

I live in Alaska, I'm disabled and I've smoked off and on for 43 years.  This is my 4th time quitting in the last 3 yrs.  I thought I had it licked last time, quit for 6 mths, wasn't having cravings, pretty proud.  I guess that's when life kicks you, when you get cocky.  My best friend of 30 years died and I lost it.  I can remember the moment, the thoughts of smoking, the fight within not to smoke and that same old line we all tell ourselves...."I'll just have one".  Well here I am 4 months later hooked as bad as ever.  I just started Chantix, again, a week ago.  Today should have been my quit day, but an unexpected family emergency came up this week and I'm not doing well with it.  The nurse I'm working with encouraged me to continue the meds but to put off my quit date for a couple weeks until this passes.  So my new date is November 25, 2011 and I plan this to be a great Thanksgiving weekend, smoke free.
