about my quitting smoking hard time easy time help me stay off cig

  I've been smoking from 20 -21 years  my first cigarette it was when I was in a group home I start it was 1 pack a few weeks started buying more and more packs of cigarettes 2 I started being a heavy smoker. I didn't realize that I had a bad habit everyone telling me was too much
  My fathers friend past away a few years ago from lung cancer due to smoking cigarettes.
  Few years ago I try quit smoking with the nicotine gum plus the gum tasted nasty so I quit using the nicotine gum.
  This year I went to see my doctor she ask me if I was still smoking and I said yes so she gave me a your choice to quit smoking she gives me 1800 nobutts so I decide this year on January Saturday 19th 2013 to call for help to quit smoking so I called the 1800 no butts for help I received my the nicotine patches on January 22nd 2013 my last cigarette was January 22nd 2013 like around 230 p.m. I receive my nicotine patches I put the first patch I had the rough all days and night. 
  From  Jan Tuesday  22 2013 1:45pm  first day started  patches
  without touching any cigarette I had rough time I open candy cane help me little bit. Same night couldn’t sleep because my body was having  nicotine fit  from last cigarette  on 1:45pm didn’t touch  any cigarette products been using nicotine patches I woke up the time was 4:42 am  morning  I was having a rough  morning.  it's been 17 hours without no cigarettes I am proud of myself. The next day was 12:pm
  afternoon still not craving a cigarette so far the only thing I miss is holding a cigarette between my fingers but did not touch 1 pack of cigarettes at all.
  The 3rd day been 2 days 3 hours in 3 minutes without no cigarette night time was 10pm  I am craving a little bit the cigarette but I want to quit so I'm fighting for myself to quit smoking. 4ourth day been  2 days 19 hours and 48 minutes no cigarettes no problems.
  3day I was having rough day craving for cigarettes cigarette but if open a candy put it in my mouth help me lot.
  been  4day 22 hour 22 mines  no cigarette no craving  for cigarette I know can do this if keep self busy or  doing something.
  Been 5 days 5 hours 47 mines.
  I have a special person help me quitting smoking  her name Kelly Anne Affeldt Bonds thank you for helping quit smoking and i love you for that.
  Today Monday 28, 2013 12:54 am morning no craving for cigarettes. I Don't understand why i start it to smoke cigarette I thought make me look cool smoking but was 19 yr old didn't know different of good or bad. I start it with one pack cigarette few months later start buying 2 carton of cigarette cost me $56.00 1 cartoon of cigarette.
  Today is Monday 28th 2013 time 8:04pm  was craving little bit for cigarette but no cigarette been 6 day  6 hr 21 mines without no cigarette hell yeah doing so good

  Kelly telling me this morning was talking sleep  I was saying something about parking trailer, and was speaking Spanish  I don’t remember talking in sleep lol
  Tuesday 29. 2013  3:25pm  without no cigarette no craving for a cigarettes.  Used a  patch per day I have 20 patches  left  been 7days  1 hours  47 mines without no  cigarettes only the hard times I'm craving a cigarette in morning lunch and dinner and a middle of nighttime so far I won't ask anyone for a cigarette because I want to quit smoking and save money and I want to be healthy I want to live longer to piss off Kelly bonds but Kelly bonds is my support for quitting smoking I love her  for that 
  Tuesday 29. 6:08pm  feel wired I don’t know  how  explain it but not craving for a cigarettes. 4 hours without  cigarettes. My hand feel  empty cause used holding  a cigarettes.  But wont touch a cigarettes. Cause I want to quit smoking need more supports
  today is my 8 day 4 hours, 25 minutes and 17 seconds without no cigarettes but last night feeling weird but didn't touch no cigarettes love u Kelly bonds helping me
  Wednesday the 30th 2013 time 6:08pm no cravings for cigarettes the only time craving cigarettes is between 145 p.m. to 245 p.m.  is been 8 Days 4 hours without no cigarettes I have 19 patches Left to use
  Thursday 31 2013 12:26pm no cravings for cigarettes  been 9 days  without  no cigarettes didn’t  buy any cigarettes pack saving money  to buy better thing
  Thursday 31 2013 I Tooke off patch  for 3 hour and  End of  3hour was  craving for cigarettes  so put my patch on. Been 9 days  5 hour  23 mines without no cigarettes

  I Can not believe took my patch off for 3 hours and fall sleep woke up craving a cigarette but didn't touch Cigarette and put new patch because was craving cigarettes
  I know I could do this if I keep it up. February 1 2013 no craving for a cigarette been 9days 10hour 34 mines so far doing OK plus don't act like punk like use to
  February 1 2013 2:am morning still awake. cant sleep, not craving a cigarette. I won't purchase any cigarettes. I want to quit smoking, so I can take my sweetheart out for Valentines day. Need a babysitter for that night
  11 days Been 10 hours 53 min without no cigarettes no craving I feel great about self couldn't do without my sweetheart support
  Feb 1 2013 so far doing OK no craving for cigarettes been 10 hour without cigarettes I am at Sizzler eat lunch with my sweetheart. 5:46pm I turn a cigarette I couldn’t  it take 1 hit of cigarette it made me sick I was going to puke so put a patch back  on cause cigarette made me sick  couldn’t  finish the cigarette at all

  When try to smoke cigarette this afternoon made me sick i don't miss the cigarette i had 2 give way open cigarette pack cause don't need them any more.

  Been 10 days just trying one cigarette didn't like it at all plus don't miss the cigarette at all my hand feels empty better hold my Smartphone to keep myself busy
  Today saved 120 dollar without buying any cigarette
  Took my girlfriend to Sizzler eat lunch i spent $47.00 dollars there then buying any cigarette pack.
   
   February 2 2012 1a.m an the morning no cigarette no craving but hand feels empty but i don't want to hold any cigarette.

   it's been 12days 16 hours and 10 minutes I had cravings but still did not touch any cigarettes Products Saturday 11 pm I am still awake can't sleep don't know why I can't sleep maybe it's because the nicotine patch or is because I slept a few hours earlier anyways I just heard my recording talking in my sleep it is funny. 
  
   Today I just talked to my counselor for smoking and ask her do I need to start over treatment because I picked up a cigarette and took 1 drag and I couldn't keep the smoke in my mouth do I need to start all over my counselor said no because I never finished a cigarette and I never stop using the nicotine patches so she ask me again what happen when I took the 1 drag from that cigarette and made me sick and puke and she said that's good thing and she asked me what did I do with opens cigarette pack I told her I give it away to a friend that smokes. 
  
   Today is 12days without no cigarettes products this afternoon again I called my smoke counselor she told me today because I picked up 1 cigarette I didn't have to start all over quitting smoking treatment because I never finish this cigarette and I just took 1 drag in a was nasty she ask me to explain what that I mean nasty the taste the feeling that I grab a cigarette and I told her both the feeling that I grab 1 cigarette and the taste and smell of the cigarette smoke. My counselor said save yourself and don't listen to the people that makes you trigger for a cigarette I told her it is hard to ignored the people that makes me trigger to grab a cigarette it's not easy because I trying the the hard ignored these people not working when I have a trigger all getting on my face book and play Farkle or I open a hard candy and use that as a cigarette. 
  
   It is 4:17 pm the afternoon my hand feels empty so I'm eating a candy. It's been 12 days 14 hours feeling a little bit of craving so I'm eating hard candy and watching a movie to keep me busy. The time is 4:35 pm afternoon I feel empty without no cigarettes so far no cigarettes for me I want to save money. 
  
   Today is 5 pm I'm having a rough time I don't understand why I'm craving a cigarette my hand feels empty I'm watching a movie to keep me busy it's not really working . I still the not touch any cigarette product is it's been 12 days 15 hours and 25 minutes and I'm having a rough time the reason I don't understand I have I've been using the nicotine patch so I don't understand. I really don't have any supporters. 
  
   It's been 12 days in 4 hours and 40 minutes I've been having a craving for a cigarette is because I don't have nothing to hold on between my fingers so it feels empty but is 6:28 pm and I'm holding on to my Smartphone and a hair tie and playing with it so is working a little bit but it's not working fast enough. Well it's time to eat another hard candy. Is 7 :11 p.m. I am craving a cigarette but a hard candy my hands feels empty my fingers feels empty because I'm used to holding a cigarette pack my fingers feel empty because I'm not holding his cigarette to keep my hands busy I'm holding my Smartphone I have time I will never touch a cigarette again. It's been 12 days 5 hours and 29 minutes without touching any cigarettes products or asking for a cigarette my craving is going away but not fast enough I have a choice to quit smoking I'll go back holding a cigarette I choose to quit from my health a better attitude 
  
   What makes me trigger to pick up a cigarette 
  
   Trigger 1. In the morning

   trigger 5 when I am stressed out

   Time 10:24 pm I am not craving right now but hands feel empty change the feeling of empties’ I replacement with my smart phone  or  different stuff. This afternoon had very heavy  craving  for a cigarette. 
  
   12 am hand feel empty no craving. 
  
   Been 13 days 19 hours  saved  118.00 because stop  buying cigarette packs and   carton cigarette.

   I’ve Slipped Up. on Feb. 1.2013 on afternoon because was angry took drag of cigarette couldn’t hold smoke in my mouth was nasty I am happy couldn’t finish the cigarette I want save money. today called my bank hear the balance saved 75.91 by now been spending money on cigarette pack or carton of cigarette no more for me only money spend taking sweetheart to Sizzler - San Diego we had steak lobster and dessert I  spend 44.45  of 120.00 
  
   On Sunday had a very hard craving for a cigarette but still did not touch any cigarettes product I still had my nicotine patch on. 
  
   Today is Wednesday the 6 2013 time is 7 15 I a.m. in the morning just woke up and I'm craving I don't understand because yesterday I was not craving for a cigarette the all day. The only thing wrong was yesterday my hand was feeling empty. Still do not touch any cigarette product. Using my phone help you with my craving in my hand feeling empty

   Move! Do not stay in the same place too long. 
  
   If you feel very bored when waiting for something or someone (a bus, your friend, your kids), distract yourself with a book, magazine, or crossword puzzle. 
  
   Look at and listen to what is going on around you. 
  
   Carry something to keep your hands busy. 
  
   Listen to a favorite song.

   Today at 11:31 a.m. my counselor called me we talked for 30minutes about my craving she ask me how are doing with the nicotine patches if I made a mistake and grabbed a cigarette I said yes and I told her that date when it happened that I grab the cigarette she asked me how many times I made the same mistake total once. my counselor is changing my nicotine 14mg patches for 14days if nicotine patches 14mg doesn't work putting me back on 21mg

   I am learning how to deal with my nicotine craving and withdrawal it's not easy but I'm doing it I am taking baby steps. Still working on my triggers. 
  
   Everybody said yes my quit day starts over but I ask my counselor if my quit date starts over and she said no but it doesn't matter to me because I am NOT touching no cigarettes from that mistake I made.

   Is 1 o'clock afternoon I took off my nicotine patch no cravings no triggers good so far is 3 pm i  the afternoon no cravings no triggers but I don't have any kind of cigarettes products I don't have any cigarettes near me the only thing I have near me is the nicotine patches if I start having  craving or having any kind of triggers. Put on nicotine patch back on . 
  
   My counselor wants me to learn take off nicotine patches let's see how long I will less without my nicotine Patches if get any kind craving or triggers  she want me put patch back on . From 1 pm  4pm been 3hr 21 mines without nicotine patch

   I had tiny long craving  for cigarettes but open gum started chewing   gum till my craving went away  and  hand feels  empty  I am  using a  hair tie  but no cigarette for me I am for real  this time. It s 12:06 a.m. still wake no craving still have the nicotine patch on  because I am afraid I will fall   back smoking I don’t want that. Thank you every one for helping me. I   still have need 2  grab cigarette but learning  new way gum or hair tie still having little problem but I am  
  
   Dealing with it been 6 days 7 hrs 3 min without no cigarette just gum  hard candy for me  
  
   I am still awake the time was 2:15a.m. I can't sleep but I'm I NOT craving for a cigarette.  
  
     
  
   To be honest with you I thought I couldn't stop smoking because I tried few years ago and failed this year I made my decision to quit smoking I started on Jan 22 2013 but I made a big mistake and grab a cigarette on February first 2013  everyone is saying quit day start  over  oh well I am okay with that.

   Today start  step 2  nicotine 14mg  for 14day wishing me luck because I don’t want 2 repeat my  first step again. 
  
   I have the first step the quitting smoking treatment never open been I just received it yesterday is 21 mg it has 14 patches inside the package never been touch I have 11 more patches of the 21 mg never been used I started yesterday my second step quitting smoking treatment I am proud of myself 
  
     
  
   Today is February Saturday the ninth 2013 11 a.m. in the morning I woke up with a wonderful mood no craving for cigarettes no triggers it's been 2 days with this lowest dose I have no problem no issues no craving no triggers I am proud of myself maybe I don't need the third step but I will ask my counselor for this question. 
  
     
  
     
  
   February eighth 2013 it's been 4:23p.m in the afternoon I received my low dose to quit smoking 14 mg nicotine of 14 patches from 4:23 p.m. in the afternoon is Ben 5 hours with my low dose without no craving for a cigarette  
  
     
  
   Is 12 am  and the morning  I still awake can't sleep but no cravings for cigarettes no triggers people make me angry all day long that means I'm learning my anger trigger no cigarette because I couldn't sleep I started watching my favorite shows to I fall asleep I've been awake from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. watching TV but no cigarettes  
  
     
  
   I've been using the first step quitting smoking treatment from jan 22 2013 it's been 18 days using the first step I had a rough times made mistakes but I learn how to control my triggers and my cravings so far.

   Step 1 purchase any hard candy or gum  
  
     
  
   Step 2 relearning new habits and keeping yourself  busy avoiding your  old habits  
  
   Step 3 if you're busy for 3 minutes or more you're craving well go away.  
  
   Step 4 if your hands are feeling emptiness grab a couple of rubber bands or paperclips to play with, and let your nonsmoking friends know you're quitting. Practice saying, "No thanks; I don't smoke," in case you are offered a cigarette.

   I've been 8 days 1 hour 48 minutes without no cigarettes no cravings and no triggers. Yesterday I received my second step quitting smoking treatment it's been 2 days that I started the second step the quitting smoking treatment no craving for cigarettes no triggers.

   My counselor send me the second step 14 mg with 14 patches inside the box or or should I ask my counselor sent me the second step again 4  18 days and OR  start my third step 4 18 days My other question is how long the nicotine  stays in your body 
  
   No I didn't know that 8 days later give advice to other how to quit smoking I'd just follow my own rules how should I quit smoking so I created my own steps and and it works for me thinking back why and why the reason I started quitting smoking

   When I was born  February 12 1981 I was born handicap plus I have messed up hip I am in pain 24/7 I thought 1 cigarette will relax me to forget my pain and I was wrong so I got hooked just smoking 1 cigarette so I've been smoking for years and my last cigarette was very on February first 2013 that's it I am quitting smoking it's 8 p.m no cravings no triggers and I am proud of myself and thank you everyone for the support right now I'm watching wrestling smackdown vs raw to keep myself busy it works I hope everyone is having a great day and a wonderful day

   Received first quitting smoking treatment On Jan 22 2013 at 1:45 p.m. Started quitting smoking first few days and night was rough  
  
   The only thing I was thinking 1 cigarette won't hurt me. My sweetheart said I think why you want to quit smoking will you please try the hard candy 2 please the craving for a cigarette but told her not same she kept repeating to try the hard candy and I  will try it.  
  
   But I see still trying to learn habits  my first mistake is keeping open pack of cigarettes in the house February  1 2013 it was time to change my patch I was very angry  I didn't put a new patch on I grabbed my open pack of cigarettes I'm outside took 1 out let it with a lighter took 1 puff couldn't hold it in my mouth it was nasty that was my first mistake keeping a open pack of cigarettes in the house. So I had to start my quitting smoking date over it is February first 2013 at 546 pm and the afternoon. From February first 2013 at 5:46.pm it's been 9 days 13 hours in 37 minutes without no cigarettes no craving and no triggers. If I never grab that cigarette and made that mistake it was give me a bin 20 days 13 hours in 5 minutes but I am not perfect and I learn from my mistake and I created a quitting smoking  chart That help me a lot I don’t miss the cigarette or going outside

   I remove my patch at 430 pm in the afternoon some craving in last 3 minutes but I chewed gum to keep me busy eat some candy turned on my computer to play games in the craving went away today is Tuesday February 12 2013 6:50 am in the morning no craving  no triggers. It was 8 o'clock in the morning I patch back on because I was getting very angry at my girlfriend  and her daughter got me angry very pissed off so that's why I have to put my patch back on because I'm still learning my triggers that's why when I get angry  I want to get a cigarette because people in my house make me angry It is 1:28 pm and the afternoon I went to see my specialist for my hip it was a stupid doctor visit. Someone was smoking a cigarette and I can smell it I really didn't care.  
  
   It is 2:59Pm in the afternoon I took off my patch no craving no triggers just my hands feels empty oh well I have a deal with it how to I get home so far my day is going perfect still have no nicotine patch on  times is 11:pm

   Is 15 minutes ago my counselor called  he ask is I made any more mistakes from February first 2013 I said no do I need any more nicotine patches I said yes he wants me call next Thursday. What I do if I had any kind craving or triggers my answer was hard candy the gum rubber band and play computer games. Other question my counselor ask how many times someone offer me any tobacco products I said never other question my counselor ask when is the last time you been around cigarette smoke or smokers 1 time yes really how did I take it I told him I don't miss going outside any more

   I had a dream  that I picked up a pack of cigarettes took one cigarettes out started  smoking  it and finish pack of cigarette my girlfriend  got mad at me. When she tried to give me advice I woke up and I don't remember the rest of the dream and then I ask my girlfriend if I was talking in my sleep I checked my recordings on my phone I was saying pissed off you cannot tell me what to do I'm 32 years old handicap man.  
  
     
  
   Look I understand people don't understand me what I'm trying to do when I take off my nicotine patch off I need to learn how to control my craving and my triggers my consular telling me it won't be easy and you can fall back to you all habits I told my counselor of never happen my goal was to take off my patch 424 hours but I failed. I need to learn new habits because my counselors said to me I don't want to be like some people use on for years and years the nicotine patches so he said I should try it once a week see how long I last without  No nicotine patches so I'm trying it so far I make it for 3 hours sometime make it for 18 hours sometime make it for 22 hours sometime make it for an hour and a half please don't judge I'm trying to quit using the nicotine patch and and learn new habits and learn how to control my cravings and my triggers I am still learning how to control them so far I'm doing good. But some people are judging me because I take off my nicotine touch off I need support not people judging me thank you 1 of my friends die drinking alcohol my other friend died lung cancer I talk to his brother he is proud of me of quitting.  
  
     
  
   Is Been 36 days from the day I start it quitting smoking from 1 / 22 /13 you minus  the day I made a giant mistake on February first 2013 at 546 pm an afternoon but if you think I have to do start over is Been 14 days without no cigarettes some triggers craving and I'm still learning please have some patience with me

Quitting smoking long process  few days  hard but get easier took me 18 days and half  start learning new habit I am still learning habits

   patch fall off again 7pm I'm getting very upset because patch keep falling off. Today Saturday 16 13 at 10:11pm 5 people was smoking i had hard time plus had craving.  
  
     
  
     
  
   February 18.2013 4:14 pm the afternoon I had a tiny craving but no cigarettes for me just gum for me. I just need to control my new life without smoking a cigarette. Everyone saying I'm doing good. I am afraid I'm going to fall back with my old habit I've been trying removing the nicotine patch few times for couple hours never made it 24 hours I couldn't make it 24 hours. It's been 16 days without no cigarettes I just replace my cigarettes with hard candy n gum. Is 5:53 p.m. in the afternoon some cravings but I'm doing okay I don't miss my old habits 6:12 p.m. no cravings I'm doing okay just don't have l nothing to do. Was thinking tobacco company makes billions of dollars but they don’t think who they  killing.  3 am in morning slept   few and wok up 4:23 am in morning still no craving  try go sleep  again. Is 12 a.m. in the morning no cravings yet still couldn't sleep it's been 17days since I quit smoking I had a few times some I'm craving but I grabbed a piece gum I started chewing the gum like 5 minutes my craving went away. But still learning new trigger  smell of cigarettes and pot  still awake 3am in morning no craving ok went 2 Walmart check out prices for  nicotine patches  product price  from 26 up with tax but is worth it for health

   Today I'll be removing my nicotine patch see how long I could take me crave for cigarettes wish me luck at 9:06a.m. in the morning  I will be moving my nicotine patch. few hours It's been 29 days I've been doing the nicotine patches yesterday I remove the nicotine patch 9:07 in the morning some craving doing ok. It's been 24 hours without no nicotine patch it's been 1 day 5 minutes without no nicotine patch and I'm doing okay so far.

   It's been 9 days I made the first mistake was February 1 13 at 5:46 p.m been 18 days without  no mistake Is 3 p.m. and afternoon its been 6 hours without no  nicotine  patch some cravings no triggers just puking not funny just I was done with that my craving went away still my counselor wants me to learn how long I go the whole day without no patch  my counselor was using someone as a example some people use their  t patches for years but I've been telling I've been taking the patches of for a few hours she said okay to do my life see how it goes 
  
   Today and 907 in the morning I remove my nicotine patch I've been doing it few times but yesterday when I called my counselor she gave me some steps the first that was removing the nicotine patch steps to writing down when I can't handle the craving. Yesterday my nicotine patch kept falling off but I've been cleaning the area when I'm going to put a new 1 but it doesn't matter it doesn't stay 932 p.m. no craving no trigger. In my house was going from hell and back not a joke and it still did not feel the trigger or a craving no joke.  
  
   Step 1 removing is nicotine patch couple times.  
  
   Step 2 what trigger you to think about the cigarettes and how or when and where it happened  
  
     
  
   3 step 3 how does it feel without no nicotine patch. 
  
   It's been 8 hours and 20 minutes without any nicotine patch from 907 o'clock in the morning is 528 pm  afternoon still no patch just a little bit cravings some triggers I I puked a lot but I'm doing okay you do the math from 9 07 a.m. from 530 pm in the afternoon how long I've been without no nicotine patch and you tell me if I'm strong or weak only trigger do I need to control is when I smell cigarettes somebody smoking pot or buy me some e cigarettes with nicotine or some gum and some hard candy now I need to support from someone that can tell me I could do this. My goal is to do it 24 hours my consular wants me off the nicotine patch because some people using for years in years and she told me she doesn't want me to use the nicotine patch for long so I have to follow some steps and my doctor wants me to follow her to directions so I am my goal is to make it to 24 hours but if I get a heavy duty craving.  Put patch  back  on vet me ask you a question who is using nicotine patches who wants to use the nicotine quitting smoking treatment 4 the rest of your life. My counselor told me that I'm doing good but I should try step way the nicotine patches so I am trying she said I didn't have to if I'm not ready but if I feel that I smoke 1 cigarette and that's it and I feel great right now it is 540 in afternoon I just want to get off the nicotine patches I don't want to be like 1 of the drug users that have to be stuck with and patch for years in years.    February 19 2013 607 p.m. at night still no nicotine patches some cravings but doesn't hurt to open a hard candy with that craving. Just bored nothing to do don't want to smoke cigarettes. I love my new life. I didn't use the patches, I used the lozenges for the first 3 weeks. Someone one here advised me to read and learn all I could about nicotene and cigarette addiction, also on the benefits of quitting.

After the 3rd week I didn't use the lozenges anymore, as I didn't want to be addicted to them in place of cigarettes. I got some pretty bad cravings, I remember getting dizzy, having shakes, sweats, being unable to sleep, but I just rode it out and in a few weeks the cravings went away. I still have thoughts of smoking a cigarette, but they pass quickly.

Throw away all your cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays. Don't hide them somewhere, throw them away. If you have freinds who smoke ask them not to do it in your home or around you. If they are true friends they will respect your decision to quit.

Study all you can every craving you get about cigarettes, nicotene, and benefits of quitting. If a craving gets really bad, tell yourself that you have made a commitment. That you will not smoke. It will pass, you will live through it, and it will be easier the next time.

If the smell of smoke bothers you, get away from it as soon as you can.

Most of all, don't ever put a cigarette in your hand, you cannot smoke one unless you do.

I only have 4 months off cigarettes, but it's 100 times easier than it was the first 5 weeks. So if I think of a cigarette, I ask myself, "Do you want to go through all that again?" You know the answer. Don't touch one.
