Nocotine is a hard, fast addiction. Just like any addiction, it destroys the dopamine centers in your brain. Dopamine is the hormone of more; it always wants more: it’s never satisfied. As a society, we are always looking for pleasure. Instead of looking for pleasure, look for joy and peace. When a craving for nicotine hits, take a walk or take deep breaths. This will send a signal to your brain to calm down dopamine. What are you doing today to have adequate levels of dopamine without destroying it? Look for joy and peace... these will last more than that dopamine hit that will only last a couple seconds or a few minutes.
