Weird way to quit smoking (and not recommended)

So I was determined to quit awhile ago using patches. I made it a week, and I realized the second week wasn't easier, and I smoked a couple of cigarettes and have continued to do that for the past few weeks except last week when I managed to abstain for 3 days.

Of course my COPD has continued to to get worse. I was also diagnosed with an extremely rare form of lung cancer. Surgery is not an option for me because of poor lung function, and I can't have chemo because of immune efficiencies so I went t Duke for specialized radiation. I go back 4/22 to see the progress.

I realize I'm going to stick with EX if I'm going to be successful at my forever quit!

I'm 59 with severe COPD. I've decided I really want to live and I won't if I smoke. I have 4 grown boys, a grandson and granddaughter due on 9/10. Lots of reasons to live.
