I ended up not following through with this quit date mentioned below, but I am happy to report now that I have been smoke free since August 9th 2014, so I have been officially a non-smoker for almost 1.5 yrs!!!! Thanks to all for words of encouragement. I never want to go back 🙂

p.s. I took chantix for 6 weeks and this helped me quit, although mild side effects (nausea, bad dreams, severe mood swings) were a little tough it was worth it!!

You CAN never go back!  Don't overdo the alcohol, and remember that you will always be an addict so "just one" isn't possible for you!
