Surrounded by smokers? Don't panic!

If you're new to quitting smoking, and you worry about being surrounded by smokers, fear not.  I logged on just to share that even at 2 years without a cigarette, sometimes you are in situations out of your control where you may be in the company of smokers.  Lots of them.  The nice thing that is within your control, is the ability to hold your head high and be comfortable in the commitment you made on day one.  At first, that smoke might smell sweet, you might even miss it, for a second.  Then that unmistakable ashtray scent appears before your nostrils, and suddenly what smelled pretty good stinks really bad.  And all the while,. you're breathing free, with the freedom to walk away from those who choose to smoke.  You may be in situations where there may be second hand smoke around.  Remember, we used to create atmospheres worth of cigarette smoke.  Now as people living a life smoke free, we fill our fragile lungs with fresh air whenever and wherever we can.

So I just came on to say at day one, day twelve, month two, or year two, that you DO have a choice.  Temptation sometimes shows up when you least expect it.  Identifying that temptation, seeing it for what it truly, noxiously is, makes you really realize how much better your life is, all without the discomfort of a cigarette.
