Recent personal health news has prompted me to want to quit smoking. I've been a pipe smoker for about 8 years, probably the equivalent of a pack a day. This will be my first attempt, as I've never desired to stop smoking before. I've created my archive of articles on what smoking does to a body, and how it contributes to my conditions. I was going to quit Oct. 1st, but after getting geared up to quit, I moved it up to Saturday July 9th 2022.
The first question I have is whether or not to go with nicotine replacement products or not. My initial instinct was "no", but then I read about it being better to use it for a bit to help improve the odds of quitting. What is the consensus in this community?
(Please forgive me if this is a redundant inquiry. I just found out about this group and do not know my way around yet.)
