One day at a time or never again...

Vaping free. Days of freedom are starting to wind together more freely and easily. I don’t think about having that piece of licorice in my mouth at every moment, I’m ok if I don’t have cinnamon gum in. I don’t have to talk myself out of going to the gas station every single morning, I just don’t do it. I remember loving one day at a time in my early sobriety days and then it became a blur of just weeks and then months and now years. Eventually quitting becomes moving on and away from the ties or the habit. It goes from one day at a time to never again.

I have an app that tracks how many days free, how much money saved, how much time saved from addiction... I used to look at it all the time! Now I just give it a passing glance to check in every once in a while. The latest numbers:

8 days free from vaping.

1 year 2 months 30 days free from cigarettes

2 years 7 months 22 days free from alcohol

And still, never again. Just keep moving forward and choosing the next right step.

We are not alone. Goodnight EX community and I wish you a peaceful sleep.
