My son

I am doing as my dear friend Nancy suggested because I am struggling with my son who is a tractor trailor driver. He drives from Virginia to Delaware everyday. On interstate 95North a woman ran into the side of his truck attempting to exit off of the interstate. He came in and could barely walk. This is the second time this sames exact thing has happened in the last couple months. Last year his truck blew a front tire and hit an illegally parked truck. His truck blew up in flames and he almost went up with the truck. my nerves are shot but I will not smoke. Smoking will change nothing. Life continues to have its ups and downs and nothing can change that.

Please pray for my son.

God bless

Carolyn and Cookie

You got it... Trucking is a hard occupation.  I am a safety specialist  in the corporate office of a large trucking  company and we have 200 plus owner operators, I hear the horror stories. I will be praying for strength for you and safety for your son...

You know you and your son are in my thoughts and prayers.

And those of us in our little cars thought the tractor trailers were the bad guys?  This sure provided me with an attitude adjustment.......

Carolyn,

I certainly will pray for your son, I know how hard it must be to NOT smoke but want to acknowlege the fact that the strength you are exhibiting by chosing not to is what is making you a success story and a non smoker! I am proud of you being able to hold your head high and rely on your higher power (mine too) and chosing to handle your stress in a healthier way! If you ever need to talk I'll be around. Hugs! Please keep us posted.

God Bless,

Carolyn

How awful! So glad he's ok. I feel sorry for and respect those people. What would we do without them. Hard job! Keeping you both in prayer!

I know this worry oh so well.  My significant other has been a truck driver (hauling gasoline) the entire 8 years we've been together and in one of the busiest cities.  I worry about him and say a prayer every night that he goes out. Up to this point, we have had one minor incident  which happened pretty much the same way as your son's.  No one was hurt (except the lady's car) but it could have been worse.  Trucking is not a joy ride, its a living, a means of survival for the trucker and they are fulfilling the needs of every living person in this country in some way or another.  People see them as a nuisance because they are obstructive and slow but don't realize that this is how their goods are being delivered.  Your son will be included in my prayer and so will you.

STAY STRONG and GO FORWARD with your quit.  You're doing so well.

So many times people worry about the drivers of cars because a truck can really do a number on a car, as I am sure you know.  A responsible truck driver is at risk every time they get on their route.

I will say a prayer for your son and for you, Carolyn.

Best,

Ellen
