50 (?) years!

This was my first (and only) attempt at quitting.  The education, preparation and support here, I am sure, spelled the difference in my success.

And, trust me - if I can do this - EVERYONE can!  I truly believe that.

I smoked for 33 years (from 9yrs old to 43).

I understand that you're nervous about quitting, and that asking us questions may help you a little..... but i was wondering if you're reading the other blogs and comments?  I ask, because some of your questions can probably be answered there, and more, too.  I hope that you're aksing yourself questions, also. If you read up on the Preparation exercises on this site, you'll know what questions to ask yourself and some things to do that will make quitting less scary.  I wish you luck

20 years! I was over 30 when I started (very unusual!) And now I have COPD! Quitting after a long histroy of smoking is in some ways more successful than the shorter times. You can make anything an EXcuse to smoke or a reason to Quit! You get to/have to decide!
