I got high this morning (like, really f*cked up)

My friend had her cart with her today so I was hitting it nonstop. I took about 10 hits and I felt amazing. I hadn't gotten high prior to this time in about a month and a half. But I love it. It tastes like shit but it's so good, if you know what I mean;)  And I was high for about 1 hour and a half. I can't tell you how much I love getting high. I love how it makes you feel!!!! I love how it makes you feel like you're losing control...of everything. Your thoughts, your emotions, me laughing my ass off in 1st hour because I was f*cked up 😂, and of course, for someone like me that has high anxiety, depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder, you love getting high because it melts all your worries and stress away like it was never there.

But anyways, I had weed at about 8:00 AM and I wasn't having any cravings when I was high. and I was high as f*ck until about 15 minutes ago.

Right now, at 9:56 AM, it has for the most part worn off, but I'm not sober. And now that I'm more in control of my thoughts, I am having serious cravings right now. How do I get over this hump? I want to quit but I'm so attached to it and it feels like a void that's drawing me in

I hope you will try some of the tips we are offering.  Nicotine is a physical and psychological addiction, and as such is not easy to get past.   There actually IS a physical and mental void when you quit!  It takes real effort on your part to quit it.

Have you changed up your routines, distracted yourself when a craving hits?  If not, try those.  They are proven to help.  Maybe you can cut straws into lengths to sub as a smoke?  You might also get some gum or long lasting mints/candies like Sour Patch Kids, licorice or Fireballs to keep your mouth busy.

You CAN quit!  The early days suck; they just do.   It does get easier.

Hang in there until it does!

@madison_ziesmer Please forgive me if I'm not understanding this correctly.

Maybe you should think about approaching what you enjoy one at a time.  Eliminate the nicotine for now and deal with the THC later.  There are people that use THC without using nicotine (smoking, vaping, etc).

What is your goal?  Maybe you should take some time defining what that means to you, not us.

We're here to support you, so please let us know how we can help.

I (speaking for myself) had to stop drinking after I quit smoking.  I realized alcohol was a trigger for me to want nicotine.  I did not plan to quit alcohol, but I desperately wanted to quit nicotine.  Choose wisely.

Thanks for sharing dear friend @madison_ziesmer

Please when a crave hits grab a lemon and bite into it peel and all

Thank you

It busts craves when you bite into that lemon you won't be thinking about sucking on death nicotine

Lemons bust craves

I'm so sorry guys for swearing. I didn't realize I would get flagged. I'm a little embarrassed lol

@madison_ziesmer Doesn't look like you swore to me.  You used a symbol instead of spelling out the word.  It actually has a title - grawlix.  and other's do it!

To what's important.  How is the quit going?

Don't be embarrassed!  I think the software flagged it, not a real person.

SO - how are you doing?  Throw those cigarettes away, I hope?  Feeling better, I hope?

Let us know!

Your post last week  brought me almost to tears out of concern for you . I could not respond then as I was not sure you would have taken it in . Thank you for your apology on the swearing btw . I personally appreciate you doing so . The words came out of your mouth under the influence of something or coming down from under the influence of your addiction . Your apology tells me that’s who you really are and want to be and that normally that word would not have slipped . Drugs make people do and say crazy things they normally would never do . I’m sure reading it back you realize that . That’s the nature of addiction .   I commend you for wanting to quit these addictions .

I think you might have to figure out what you want ; a short term high and short term life or a little short term anxiety from a crave for a long term life . The craves are temporary and it’s worth being uncomfortable for the long term gain . You have to decide . Do you want a chemically induced laugh , happiness and smile from a bottle , weed or cigarette or do you want a high on something that comes naturally from within you . I wondered if I could live life without addiction , I tell you I am and you can too . I am not a dr or addictions specialist , or counsellor ,  just a regular old person who was once addicted to smoking and thought she couldn’t quit . You can quit , tune in here for support , read others stories , write your story , you can do this .

I am posting a video I came across years ago . It sure helped me see what addiction was doing to me .. maybe it will help you too see addiction for what it truly is .
