I started smoking at 17 and smoked 41 years prior to my last puff of nicotine on 3/22/15. I have always hated feeling enslaved by nicotine and also feeling that I was of less value becuz I smoked, but what finally got my attention was my doctor's warning that I was showing early signs of COPD and then my having to acknowledge on a dental implant pre-surgery form that I understood use of tobacco products was a main cause of dental implant failure. Happy to be an ex-smoker and looking forward to the day I don't think of smoking at all!
