Having your mind at peace is PRICELESS

For all those newbies out there, or those who want to be newbies but are still afraid, let me tell you that the freedom of your own thought and actions when no longer an addict is PRICELESS! I no longer have any anxiety or fear of...do I have enough cigarettes to make it through? When does the store close? Where is the closest store? Do I have gas in the car? Do I have the car tonight? Can I bum a ride?  Can I smoke in their car if I do get a ride? Do I have enough money? What if I am invited to go somewhere and I can't smoke? Oh Lord! I can't find a lighter!!! Hurry, Hurry find a light!

Does this sound like a familiar refrain going over and over and over in your head?

How exhausting! It's like juggling knives!

Or how about how many times have you missed out on something because you were outside smoking? How many trips, flights, rental cars,  family events, movies (in theater)...etc have you passed up because you first had to consider whether or not you can smoke in those situations?

When you hear us old timers talk about freedom, it is just so hard to convey how completely DIFFERENT we feel now that we have quit. How peaceful, content, and happy our minds are now that we are fully in control of our thoughts! Don't be afraid, come grab your freedom!

Amen sister, thanks for the reminder. I'm  probably ashamed to say the great lengths I've been to for that cigarette fix. Yes, the freedom is great, with new rewards emerging every day. Thanks for posting

I second the Amen!  The internal conflict is probably the biggest reason I finally quit.
