Share your quitting journey
It's easy to spout a bunch of cliches & platitudes to those "trying" to quit or "trying" to stay quit. I do it myself. It does get a point across with brevity hopefully to positively motivate someone. We never know when we say something what may have an impact on another person.
"Triumph is the word try with just a little more umph."
"One step forward and two steps back is still called the cha cha so keep dancing."
It can change the yuck feeling of falling back when we make bad choices & choose to continue to feed our addiction into something perhaps more acceptable & hopeful. Feeling better about it though doesn't change what motivates us to do better. Here I go again with the cliches.
"Fall 8 times; get up 9 times."
"Once we know better we can do better."
How many times does a person need to fall backwards to learn from it? Excuses for falling backward belong in our past. Free choice is always within our power. We can choose something different from what we have been doing (over & over again) to move us instead to fall forward.
Fall forward into new habits to create new paths. Fall forward into a future of something better, healthier, and life affirming. Different choices get & keep us in recovery to achieve an addiction free life. It's peaceful without the constant call of an active addiction.
"Easy? No. Simple? Yes. Doable? Absolutely." We already know it's the best choice for us. Get yourself clear of active addiction to see the possibility of a better future and then hang onto it for dear life. It's totally doable for everyone. Fall forward.
(How many thought this blog was going to be about changing our clocks?! lol)
