I went to my niece's wedding shower today in a neighboring town that has a small casino.  After the shower, I decided to stop in for awhile and try my luck.  I have not been in a casino since I quit.  I was a little leary of going because of all the smoke and frankly I was afraid that it would be a huge temptation.  Turned out to be just the opposite.  I people watch - and was literally amazed to see all the chain smokers - sitting there glued to their slot machine taking big, deep puffs off that nasty cigarette over and over again.  Here i am just under a year and it is already hard for me to believe that I was just like that - exactly one year ago.  So to all of your just starting your journey, hang in there - it just gets better and better!

Jennifer 359 DOF - 7180 un-smoked cigarettes that I will toss in the bonfire in just a bit!

PS - I walked out with a little over $500.00 more in my pocket   than what I went in with - not a bad day at all!

You go Girl!

Rocked the quit, & got paid to boot...I'm so happy to see that you are still rocking the quit.  I really missed you guys while I was out killing myself.  It is good to be back.  Hope the rest of your evening is peaceful.

Hugs,

Pops

What a great day you had and a lucky one too  !  An OTB just opened at the end of my road I am very curious about it but I hate going to places like that alone so I haven't been to it yet . Has anyone ever gone to one of those ? (Off Track Betting ).

Congrats on your quit Jennifer see ya at the bonfire !!!

is there a separate section for smokers or does everybody's hair smell like smoke?

Wonderful time when you can sit in the areas where you can actually see the slots... I remember trying to play, smoking and hold on to my pocketbook... all with smoke in my eyes.

Congrats... on not smoking and winning!

Well, I'd say that was a nice early present for your very special Friday coming up!!!  woo hoo!

I am just 12 days in, not ready to go to a casino yet, appreciated your people watching comments, as that had to be a great pick me up to be around it, see how bad it is, and just feel reinforced that you said NOPE those many days ago!!
