Benefits of Quitting Nicotine

We have probably all heard of the health benefits of quitting – including reduction in chances of developing cancer, heart attack and stroke, COPD, arterial disease, etc. I want to highlight some of the more immediate, OTHER benefits.

Things I noticed which were improved:

* frequency of coughing,

* chest crushing cough at the end of every good laugh – gone!

* sense of smell and taste

* feet warmth in cold bed

* shortness of breath

* skin appearance

* self esteem

* stale ashtray BO - gone!

* productive time in your day

* money in your pocket

If you are newly quit, what have you noticed?

Did I miss anything?

It's ALL good, no?

I smoked until a vascular surgeon informed me of the damage I had done to myself by doing so. I quit 11 years ago, and I can swim laps virtually FOREVER now, walk most other days 40 minutes to an hour and a half. What a difference quitting has made in my life! I strive to help others find this wonderful freedom from addiction, too.
