A Whole new Year

Checking in with the fine folks of the Ex community. I must say things are going swimmingly. I'm still doing great and haven't touched a smoke since my quit date. Thta's right I survuvued college football bowl season, visiting family for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve! Actually i stayed in New Year's Eve just to be a little cautious. Less than half a year until smoke free for a full year.

I've been trying to remember my last craving and I'm thinking they are almost all now in my dreams at night. But I did catch myself at Thansgiving thinking that just one wouldn't hurt. But I remembered the advice on these pages; just went for a quick stroll to clear my head and let the thought pass. But it gets a little easier each and every time.

I hope all of you are doing well through your quit. If sometimes it feels too difficult like it did for me my trick was to just fake it being easy until it was my new reality. And I'm saving my money each day for a vacation this summer. I've found a vacation to be a very good treat and to keep me focused.

Until next time, take care.

Congratulations to everyone for hanging in there. I just wanted to stop by and see how everyone is doing. I broke off my relationship with cigarettes 2 years and 6 months ago. Couldn't be happier. I really thought I was a lifetime smoker and would never be able to quit. Oone thing I did that helped, was to have my cigarette money direct deposited into my savings account by my payroll department. I would treat myself to something that I really wanted once I had built up a good amount ( it's amazing how fast that is) I paid for myself and my daughter to a vacation at the beach, I splurged on a set of Le Creuset pots and pans. I basically paid myself 5.00 a day to not smoke. Good luck to everyone! If I can do it. I know you all can.
