First month smoke free in over 20 years.

Positives-

My food tastes much better.

I am not as shortwinded as I was.

I don't smell like an ashtray anymore. When I get around someone who smokes all I can think is "did I really smell that bad when I smoked?"

Saving about $250 a month.

People who used to avoid me now are willing to talk to me.

My self-esteem has improved.

I feel healthy.

Negatives

I've gained about 15 lbs.

I'm thinking this is just a phase, as I'm beginning to grow accustomed to food tasting better, I'm not eating as much as I did in weeks 2 and 3, and being 6'2", 225 isn't obese. I also am walking playing golf now, and intend to this coming spring to start running again.

I get a little aggrivated at times I didn't used to.

I used the lozenges for 3 weeks. This last week was my first week "nicotene free". The package reccomended using them for 12 weeks, but I don't want to be addicted to them in place of cigarettes. The cravings I get are a little more intense at times but still pass.

I occasionally have insomnia.

About 1 day a week I have difficulty sleeping, no particular day, no particlular reason, just can't sleep. Again, I think this is just a phase that will wear off in time.

Any suggestion? I'm grateful for my first month, the positives definately outweigh the negatives.
