Bought cigarettes tonight. Didn’t smoke any. Went to store for Mike who works night desk at the hotel I’m staying and got him some Newports. $11 here ridiculous (would be $6 or less in NC where I live). Reinforced the quit. Still get urges but manageable. I have not shied from drinking or people who smoke as I figure got to get through that so might as well now while on high alert.
Big thanks to the community. I’m not a frequent poster type but has definitely helped reading others thoughts on the journey.
I have not used lozenges for the last two days but plan to keep them in my pocket for the next year if nothing else as a security blanket.
My reasons to quit have expanded beyond myself, wife, and kids to showing my brother and best friend they can quit too.
