Well, Kathleen, if it's your house then you certainly have the right to tell her to not smoke around you. If you're talking about going to her house your quit depends on staying away from smoking friends and relatives for the first few weeks, unless you're a super strong person with will power up the ying yang. I never would have made it unless I just stayed away from smokers for the first couple of weeks. It's been over a year now and I still can't be around smokers because it makes my COPD much worse and gives me sinus infections that last several days...sometimes even a week, so it's sure not worth it to me to be anywhere near a smoker. Believe me, they know not to smoke near me. If people can't respect what you're trying to do, then just stay away from them.
