Daily Pledge, Bonfires and Quit Celebrations: Traditions born from the members

Welcome - to the first, or hundred and first, or one thousand and first day of your quit!
In the beginning of our journeys we need to form a pact, make a promise, a commitment with ourselves to not do something we’ve done for perhaps many years. Whether it’s smoke, vape, chaw, snus - engage in some habitual form of nicotine consumption. Even NRTs can become addictive with constant overuse and directions not followed.
At first we can feel a bit like fish out of water, flopping around in a strange environment and we need to take a helping hand more often, vow more strongly and gather strength from the other fish around us. In the beginning we especially need to be very attentive to our commitment and hold ourselves accountable. But as we progress, that need lessens. Happily. But still we’ll come back once a day or week or whenever we need to (when that sudden emotional craving moment smacks us) in order to reinforce our commitment and keep our quits safe. Or simply to offer a hand in support.
Come here whenever you need to. Take the hand offered by the person before you. It could be the hand of someone on their first day. How thrilling is THAT! And each time you reach out with your other hand for the next quitter know that you're proclaiming “Yes, I can! And so can YOU!”
We’re all on this journey together. And there is strength and beauty in this shared commitment. Bravo to us all!
How to pledge:
As you go through your day you know that you have these two people with you and all of you are keeping each other strong. How cool is that!
If these help you - use them. If they don't - create your own. (Thanks to @JimTaddeo for finding them.)

@magnoliagirl Day 4, way to go! I still don't know if I'm doing this right because it seems like there should be some posts since yours on Wednesday, but I will take your hand and pledge not to smoke today and offer my other hand to the next EX. Happy to have 1338 smokefree days of FREEDOM!
@Bo_Sparks still trying to figure out how to post here...a little frustrating but I'm not going to smoke over it! Taking your hand to pledge not to smoke today and offering my other hand to the next EX in line. Grateful for 1338 Days of Freedom from Nicotine!
@CommunityAdmin I have attempted to follow the directions on how to post here...have replied to the last post I see at the top of the last page, but when I refresh I see additional replies but not mine (this has happened twice, Bo_Sparks' reply appears above magnoliagirl's reply and then the second time I refreshed Cousin_Itt's reply appears at the top of the list of replies. My replies are nowhere to be found..now I am posting in the blank "post a reply" that appears at the bottom of the last page and that shows my profile pic.
OK, I think you go to the FIRST page not the LAST PAGE...instructions need to be revised I believe @CommunityAdmin . Testing this now...
@Christine13 now that I've figured out how to post, I happily take your hand and pledge not to smoke today and extend my hand to the next EX who is joining us in our pledge. Congratulations, Christine! So very proud of you! Bonnie with 1338 Days of Freedom from Nicotine!
Hey Bonnie. You have to click on the last page number which is 8 right now.
Good Afternoon @Turtleday1 Thank you for your hand as I pledge No Smoking for me today
I offer my free hand to the next Winner in line

@Bonnie the default sorting order is linear oldest to newest. But if you change your sorting to threaded and or newest to oldest the directions may be off. Unfortunately I can’t adjust dynamically based on people’s settings. Most people don’t change them so that’s why I put the directions I did.
Right after you post it will show your post at the top of the page momentarily but when you refresh the page it will move your reply to the correct page. If people post after your post you won’t be the last one.
I’m not sure about which cousin and magnolia post you refer to as they were not on the last page when I looked. I saw christine13 and turtleday on page 8. Perhaps you were on page 7 when you first replied.
