“Hope talk” to “Hope balls”

In my first blog, I wrote, “I hope to quit smoking.” I was surprised to hear from a few people that the word “hope” made me appear to be less-than committed, or fearful, or not in control of my own destiny. I’ve thought a lot about those comments – and you’re right. I need to stop with the “hope” talk and start talking more assertively, and with confidence. I have quit smoking, and it’s been 43 hours.

I acknowledge that I will most likely put on a few pounds now that I've quit smoking. But with the extra free time that I have from not smoking, I have started a bit of cooking! I attacked my pantry this morning, and threw together what I am calling "Hope Balls" - whole oats, natural PB+hazlenut spread, almonds, dried cranberries, honey - rolled into 2-bite balls and safe in my freezer. Yummy.
