MY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITHOUT CIGARETTES!

Good Afternoon Ex's,

I just finished my 3rd Half Marathon (13.1 miles) today and on my 2 year anniversary of NO SMOKING!  It was 60 degrees, but very windy with a challenging and hilly course! I placed 2nd in my age group, which is now 50-59. I am so proud of this BIG accomplishment of not smoking and enjoying and excelling with my NEW ADDICTION of running. I may not be saving any money because fitness/running races isn't cheap, but so worth it and thankful I have a supportive husband.  I had a few moments during the race to reflect back on all the changes in my life since I put the cigarettes down and I am definitely healthier inside and outside because of my new love of running. My alcohol consumption has also decreased tremendously!  Cigarettes and alcohol were like twin sisters and now alcohol is an orphan child.

I hope you guys are all ready for Spring and I encourage the new Ex's to start walking to get through the triggers and fill the spaces and time that you used to waste sitting around smoking.  You will notice a difference in your breathing as the days, weeks or months go by.  I started walking and running at age 48 and now have run 25+ races.

Have a blessed day and Happy Easter!

Stacey
