Maggie Mae and I are OK

The shock has worn off. My daughter gave me some very good advise and that was not to keep replaying in my mind the attack. It is hard not to do, but she is right. I am so thankful that my daughter was here. (another "He" works in mysterious ways). She was inside with her Dad and thought at first the screaming was coming from his ipad. When she realized it was outside and then saw me holding the leash and collar, she went into take charge action! I was not able to take Maggie out again yesterday on her leash, but kept her in the yard. This might seem silly but what bothered me a great deal was our adopting Maggie to give her a great life, away from all the abuse she had suffered and this happens at her new home.

So far she seems to be doing well. Not too much of a limp this morning and she could navigate the steps, without further pain meds.

Hopefully I will get more information today from animal control. The officer that came to the house was wonderful. Because we took Maggie to the vet immediately, that gave him time to find the dogs still in the area. Apparantly someone who had stopped their car in the street had given a good description, complete with the black spiked collars.

Looking back, we were so lucky in that the 2nd pitbull was passive. Had it attacked also I'm afraid the outcome would have been horrendous. Thank you Legend! I will be ordering a pepper fogger to carry with me when we are outside.

The messages of care and concern were so much appreciated. Thank you, thank you.

This morning, I again, make my choice to be free!
