I just finished writing my grandmother, which means one thing--I have finished this latest round of writing letters. If you haven't gotten yours yet, don't worry, you will (unless the mailman stole it because of its beauty or it was otherwise lost).
When I first quit smoking, I started buying stickers instead of cigarettes. I don't really know why, but I think that I thought stickers were really cool and special when I was a kid, and the whole quitting thing made me want to go back to my childhood. I'm sure a specialist could give a stronger hypothesis.
Anyway, I didn't know what to do with them. I had and have a ton of stickers, so I decided to start writing letters and covering them with the stickers I was buying. I committed to a letter a day for the first 10 months or so, until my canine soulmate crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Then, I could barely commit to living, let alone anything beyond that. Over two years later, I still have a ton of stickers--Hello Kitty, medieval themed, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Disney, animals...and SO MUCH MORE. Many of what I have has actually been sent to me by the sweet people here at EX--Sammy, Smorgy, Nanawendy, Sky, Strudel...
So, if you send me your mailing address, I'll send you a letter that is covered in ridiculous stickers. If you're a little freaked out at the idea of sending your address to a half-stranger from the Internet, I have several people on the site who will vouch for the fact that I am neither a peeping Tom nor a serial killer, nor do I sell Amway or Mary Kay. I'm just a gal with a lot of stickers.
