Hello everyone. I am writing to ask for some practical advice.
My dear friend and I are getting some dinner together and then seeing a movie tonight. I am really looking forward to it. However, I am a little apprehensive too because my friend smokes. This will be one of the first times I'm spending one-on-one time with an ex-smoking buddy!
I though that I would just tell her from the get-go that I've quit, I'm doing fine. If she chooses to smoke I'm all right with that. After all, I have no business nor desire to tell others what they should do. That's the truth! But nonetheless, I wanted to put my apprehension out there because yes, I do feel a bit nervous about being around my ex-smoking pal and smelling the fumes, watching her, etc.
ANY practical suggestions for getting through this tonight would be appreciated! How did YOU deal with being around smokers early on? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
