101 Days of Freedom, One day at a time

Yes I have arrived at 101 days of being smoke free and it feels really good, not all the days were good though and the Freedom Train can get a little rough at times! I remember one day in particular day 23 I believe I awoke that day with the nicodemon and his minions all over me, I went to bed riding high in the engineers seat and awoke hanging on for dear life on back of the caboose one hand hanging on to the railling the other trying to beat the nicodemon off me with my feet dragging on the tracks. I did not think I had a Chance that day, everything seemed to be going against me from the time I got up I thought I was doing everything right to protect myself and on the way to work I was going to stop and give in, on the way into the gas station there was a couple guys standing by the store smoking and when I got out I could smell the smoke and it made me gag I got really nervous and got back into my truck and went straight to work, at this point I thought I was gonna get sick literally get sick but I made it to work and after getting settling in I came directly to this site and asked for HELP It was the best thing I did, I was getting down on my self for wanting to give in and smoke but I was assured by everyone that I just scored a Huge Victory against the Nicodemon and his minions, it took a few days before that one sink in as I ended up sick with the flu for 5 days, i didn't see it as a victory at first but  I do now. You will experience this at some point in your quit and everyday you don't smoke it is a Victory, you won if only for one day you won the battle. I recieved the following on my post that day its from Tommy.

Lifelines! The Key to Success!!

There are a lot of new people here, and this is also a reminder for those who may have forgotten! Always remember your lifelines!

If you should have a serious craving use all of your lifelines before you smoke!

#1. Ask The Audience! Come here and tell us that you are in danger, and why! Wait 15 minutes for us to respond! Give us that opportunity to help you! That is why we are here!

#2. Phone A Friend! Befriend someone here that you feel you can trust! EXchange phone numbers with that person! If you are in a situation that you can not handle on your own, call or tEXt that person!

#3. 50/50! Make two list! The first list should be all the reasons you should not smoke! The second list should be all the reasons you should smoke! Now take the second list and mark out all of the "EXcuses" to smoke! EXcuses and reasons are two very different things! If there is anything left on the second list let me know!Keep your first list handy. Read it, if any of the "EXcuses" try to steal your quit!
