I set my quit date... feeling good!

Today I read my friend Rachel's Facebook post celebrating 2 years, smoke-free, and I was so happy for her!

I'm at the tail end of a bad sinus infection that kept me off my skates for two weeks. I've been feeling really horrible about my body and my health (specifically, the lung-u-lar region) and I decided it was time to try again. I want to be as happy as Rachel is! I want to be able to make it through a season without coming down with something horrible. I want to be able to skate without bursting into a coughing fit.

I'm going to quit because I want to:

1) minimize my respiratory illnesses.

2) be a better derby dame and athlete!

3) give myself a pay raise! I could afford a gym membership outside of derby practice and work at paying off my debt with more breathing space.

4) sever ties with morally banctrupt companies.

My quit date is June 1st. I want to prepare myself as much as possible before I quit.

This week, I want to quit smoking in my truck, find my water bottle.
Next week, Clean up my smoking areas, quit smoking in the morning, and start running instead.

On my first day of quiting, I want to pamper myself and be kind to my body. I need to brainstorm nice things. Here's what I've got so far: go take a walk around Shelter gardens, visit the rec center hot tub, somehow find a sauna?? to use, Hatha yoga class at the rec center...

This is going to be good! I can definitely do this!!

I recently experienced grief and started smoking again. I'm looking to get back on that ex train and use healthier coping mechanisms.
