Most difficult test for me to this day!

Al and I are (former) bikers. I hope to become one again soon because I really miss my motorcycle. Al used to be in a club. We found out the guy who was the President of his chapter passed away so we decided to visit the clubhouse Friday nite when they open it to the public. If you don't already know - almost ALL bikers smoke. This is a private club where smoking is not only allowed, but it's part of the atmostphere.  I remembered the days of sitting with my other lady biker friends and we smoked and drank and laughed and smoked and smoked and smoked. I told Al ahead of time that I was afraid of going for that reason. He assured me that if it was too smoky we would leave.

Well, it turns out the club had a good "smoke-eating" system going. I had a wonderful time sitting with my friends and drinking and laughing and THEY were smoking. The smoke was not overpowering and I saw the act of smoking differently then I did before. I could see the absolute "slavery" they have to the weed.  Al stood with his buddies who also smoked like chimneys and he never waivered for a second.

We both agree on how much fun that evening was and also on how glad we are that we are not chained to those cancer sticks any more. Al will hit his one year anniversary on Tuesday. Remarkable!!

I just really wanted to share this with you all - I was genuinely scared. Scared I would be tempted. Scared I would want to "fit in". I found there was nothing to fear. Only relief and gratification that we don't have that chain around us any longer.

Thanks for letting me share family!

P.S. I DID shed myself of the smoky smelling clothes as soon as we got home - YUKKY!!
