Dear All,
Today I will complete 100 days without nicotine !!!
I feel happy to share this information with all good old friends that I have gained on Ex community.
Recently I had some very powerful urges to smoke again, but I managed to survive those assaults without any scars.
Day before yesterday I was on a merchant navy ship. The sea was very rough. Ship was anchored at 15 nautical miles away from shore. I had completed my work by 11:30 PM, but had to stay back as there was no boat service possible due to rough weather. So I was sitting with Captain of the ship and talking about good old days of shipping. As we were talking, he offered me my brand cigarette – not one packet, but a carton of 20 packs!!!
I knew this Captain since the past 20 years and I have visited his ships many times in the past for software installation/trouble shooting etc. So he knew about my likes and dislikes.
When I refused he could not believe that I am refusing cigarette. Because he knew that I was a chain smoker.
It was difficult for me to refuse in that night, as old memories of smoking sessions onboard a vessel in a stormy night was very tempting.
Finally I came ashore in the early morning hours- fresh and healthy and feeling proud of me because I didn’t smoke!
During such tempting moments I remembered my first few days after quit and how difficult itwas and also remembered sleepless nights- sitting in front of the computer, reading blogs of Ex members to gain confidence and inner strength.
I still need support from all of you as I am still in the NML.
I take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your support and guidance.
I Wish you all a very happy and proud life ahead.
