How it all began....

One year ago today it was my birthday. Now you know I will not say my age out loud, so trust me, I am at the hair salon every three weeks to color away the gray......Anywho, this is my story. Freinds took me to a show and dinner for my birthday and the following day my girlfriends and I where going to a winery in Connecticut. I woke up that morning feeling like a train wreck but I did not want to dissapoint my friends so off I went. As the day went on, the worse I felt. I was coughing, headache, couldnt breath and chills. I continued to smoke that day even though it only made me feel worse. I did not think I would get through the day. The following day was a Sunday. I went outside to smoke my first morning cigarette and I was so ill that I could not inhale. I tried one more time in the afternoon to pacify my addiction.Again I went outside, lit up and could not inhale. I did not smoke again. Two cigarettes total that Sunday, one drag of each before putting them out. The next day when I finally got enough strength to go to my doctor she asked me when was I going to quit smoking?? I told her I did. I came home from that appointment, threw out all lighters, cig packs and anything having to do with smoking. I put a patch on and found this site that week while being home from work.....So today is my first birthday smoke free since I was a teen and in two days will be my first anniversay of being smoke free. Thank you freinds for always being here! Love to all of you,

Kat
