I just wanted to give a very sincere thank you to all the folks that have posted on my page. I have set a quit date and with all the great infromation I just read, I have the hope to educate myself on the addiction of smoking and what it does to our bodies. I am a recent recovery addict from other subtances and I am finding that easier to stay away from then smoking, as it was not an everyday thing. Smoking has been a part of my life and an everyday issue for the last 16 years. I am very scared that my body and mind will not be able to handle another substance being taken away. I have been trying to cut down and I find anxiety and fever sets in, as my mind plays tricks on me that I am in desperate need for a cigarette. This is not a good sign. I have been using the techniques of distraction, but it only works for so long. I have begun to think my mind wants some kind of relese from life in the form of some hamrful sustnace. If anyone can relate please feel free to comment and let me know what would be a remedy for success as I have not fully quit yet. Thanks again in advance.
